Description
MBS-NC series mechanical screw fuse joints are the ideal choice for indoor, outdoor and underground jointing of aluminum or copper low and medium voltage conductors up to 52 kV. The inner surface is protected from oxidation by a special high drop point grease, while the outer surface is made chemical resistant by electrolytic tinning with a minimum thickness of 12 μm. The fusible screws are made of the same material as the joint body and are designed to be screwed in, using a standard wrench, until they break inside the threaded hole, resulting in no protruding threads and an improved connection. To avoid dielectric stresses, medium-voltage connectors are equipped with centering devices designed to ensure proper alignment of the various conductor sections within the joint.
